SCM buys Shuttle

NEWS SCM Microsystems has acquired UK connectivity specialist, Shuttle Technology, in a deal valued at $33m. British Entrepreneur, Alan Jones, who started the UK-based company seven years ago, will sell his shares in exchange for stock. Shuttle is better known for its recently released digital fingerprint recognition product. SCM Microsystems currently provides security products for protecting access to virtual private networks, email, firewalls and PCs. The company already uses Shuttle's technology in its digital media products.
