NEWS EMC, the global storage supplier, has appointed Robert Heise as vice president and chief information officer. Heise will be responsible for the company's worldwide IT infrastructure, including systems development, telecommunications, procurement and storage. Before joining EMC, Heise worked for, among other companies, Fruit of the Loom and PepsiCo. Meanwhile, in the UK, Michael Bell has been appointed group director of IT for Permier Farnell, the electronic manufacturing firm.
