NEWS The Office of Fair Trading (OFT) has named the man who will head its new cartels taskforce - and he has a long and unusual track record in management. Adrian Walker-Smith, who has been with the OFT for over ten years, is a former child actor who had his first taste of management in the film, Noddy in Toyland, where he starred as leader of the red goblins. Walker-Smith's latest role will see him spearhead a team of 16 investigators - none of them goblins. From March 2000, they will have the power to seize documents and interview staff if they suspect competition laws are being broken.
