Online job service saves NHS money

NEWS An online service dedicated to UK doctors is being hailed as a success by its organisers, just a month after its launch. Doctors.net.uk allows the UK's 180,000 doctors to browse a secure Web site, to which NHS trusts can post job vacancies free of charge. The site also acts as a discussion forum and repository of medical information, and offers doctors a free email for life. Neil Bacon, head of Doctors.net.uk, said a quarter of the UK's NHS trusts have already agreed to advertise jobs on the site, making inroads into the £30m per year that the NHS spends on job adverts.
