AOL wins spamming case

NEWS AOL has won an important test case against firms and individuals who send unsolicited email - when a US judge ruled that spamming counts as fraud. The case was brought marketing company LCGM which - according to a report in the UK's Guardian newspaper - spammed AOL's 15 million subscribers illegally. The judge agreed that it had committed fraud under the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act.
