NEWS Compaq has called on Dell to clarify its direct sales strategy in the UK. Joe McNally, MD of Compaq UK and Ireland, wants its arch-rival to come clean over whether it plans to start dealing with resellers. Although Dell's policy is to leave out the middleman - Compaq claims it has been looking to resellers in the UK to provide after-sales support for its computers. Meanwhile, Compaq is expected to announce next week that it will allow its larger resellers to carry more of its Prosignia PCs to help improve sales.
