Logica helps revamp UK power market

NEWS UK computer and software services company, Logica, has been awarded part of the contract to roll out a trading settlement system for the wholesale electricity market. On Tuesday it was announced that the Libra consortium - led by PricewaterhouseCoopers and including power company, International Petroleum Exchange - was to bid for the management contract of the electricity market. The trading system is due to be restructured next year with the new electricity market starting in April 2000.
