Red Hat sets up home in Europe

NEWS Leading US Linux reseller, Red Hat, is expanding into Europe. It will open offices in Guildford, Surrey, and Stuttgart, Germany. Sybase's former European vice president, Colin Tenwick, will head up the operation from the Guildford HQ. He said he will aim Red Hat's Linux operating system at European businesses which favour open source but want local support. Red Hat already has distribution and engineering partnerships in Europe, but this is its first major commitment to the market. The move follows Red Hat's acquisition of German Linux distributor, Delix.
