NEWS High-tech companies are responsible for an increasing amount of investment coming into in the UK from abroad, according to the latest annual report from the Invest in Britain Bureau. The Bureau found that of a record 652 inward investment projects launched in the UK last year, the software sector scored highest with 49 projects, closely followed by electronics with 46. But the shift towards high-tech investment - and away from traditional manufacturing - meant a slight drop in the number of jobs created through inward investment, down 3 per cent to 44,400.
