NEWS Deutsche Bank and Nokia have joined forces to develop online banking facilities, using the wireless application protocol (WAP), for customers in Germany. WAP enables Internet access using a mobile and using Nokia's 7110 media phones. The two companies hope to have services available by early next year. Deutsche Bank has nearly 6.8 million private accounts in Germany alone, and already offers a variety of channels including dedicated PC banking and call centre banking.
