IT Services to become NHS network supplier

NEWS IT Services has signed an agreement with NHS Supplies, the purchasing arm of the National Health Service, to become an accredited networking supplier. The recommendation list is designed to streamline the tendering process for NHS Trusts across the UK, cutting down on paperwork and red tape. The Warrington-based company specialises in cabling, LAN (Local Area Network) and WAN (Wide Area Network) products for the health market and claims its track record in the sector was one of the major factors behind its selection. A spokesman for IT Services said: "In particular we have substantial contracts with a large number of Trusts in the north of England. Because the number of Trusts is quite small it is easy for them to compare suppliers." He added: "We understand the business aspects - healthcare is our main market."
