NEWS Poor information is one of the main sources of stress in business management, according to a study published today. The report by Informix Software, states that sixty per cent of decision-makers are not confident that they will always have accurate information when making critical business decisions. Fifty per cent of respondents also confided that a colleague had made a bad key decision in the last year based on inaccurate data. The study, 'Informed? An Enquiry into Decision-Making in a Fast-Moving World.' looked at the experiences of managers across a variety of industry sectors in ten countries. Diane Fraiman, vice president of marketing at Informix, said that it is "smart data" not more data that managers most require. Priority should be given to enhancing the value in data that companies already possess, she added.
