NEWS Three US healthcare companies have announced a $50m tie-up this week, designed to provide both online and offline care to patients across the country. Online information provider, WebMD, and ecommerce specialist, Healtheon, signed the agreement with HealthSouth Corporation, a provider of outpatient and rehabilitative care. Under the terms of the deal, the three companies will create a sports medicine Web site offering advice and information on sports related injuries and illnesses. HealthSouth will actively promote the site in waiting rooms and healthcare centres in the US.
