NEWS Hospitals and healthcare institutions in Pennsylvania (US) stepped up their checks for Y2K preparation on Thursday after the state Governor, Tom Ridge, called on them to mark the 100-day countdown to 1st January 1st. According to a survey by the Hospital and Healthsystem Association of Pennsylvania (HAP) carried out in May, 91 per cent of healthcare institutions felt they were close to completion but were still planning to have staff on standby over the date change. HAP followed up the survey with the release of a briefing workbook setting out guidelines for Y2K preparation.
