NEWS A healthcare retailer will today unveil its Web site and kiosk technology designed to bring online health products and information to European consumers. Auravita claims to have the largest range of health-related products available online outside of the US. The company's team of 20 developers spent 18 months developing proprietary Web site and kiosk technology. The Web site, which has personalisation features and can tailor offers and advertising to each individual user, hopes to attract consumers by offering extensive information on products and healthcare issues. It has already signed up over 200 suppliers and manufacturers in the UK alone. Chairman and CEO, Rodney Sacks, said the company will move quickly to establish itself as the dominant player in the market and plans to IPO within 12 months. "We want to be the biggest health-related site in Europe," he said. Auravita hopes to launch partnerships with established chemists by offering to set up its kiosk technology within high-street stores. It claims it can offer traditional retailers the chance to expand their product range and information without having to pay out large development fees. According to Sacks, Auravita is not a threat to traditional chemists. "It's a different business. Some chemists are launching Web strategies but they are not succeeding. When they realise this, they will be looking for strategic partnerships and tie-ups with companies like ours. "We are helping retailers bridge the knowledge gap," he claimed. The company's site at http://www.auravita.com , is up and running but will not officially launch until early next year.
