NEWS Networking distributor, Azlan, is trying to put behind its troubled past and set up a European wide ecommerce site for resellers. Azlan.com aims to offer not just equipment but information about technical specifications, education courses and services the distributors can provide alongside the hardware. Barrie Morgans, chairman of Azlan, said: "Yes, it does allow us to execute orders more cheaply, but more importantly, it frees my sales staff from the grunt work - allowing them to chase up new leads." Morgans continued: "It is dead easy to set up a Web site but it is about changing the businesses internal processes so you are not carrying unnecessary costs. It is also about people - we worked hard to convince the sales staff of the value of this development." The site goes live on 14 December and can be found at http://www.azlan.com .
