NEWS UK electronics retailer, Dixons, has appointed its first ecommerce director to co-ordinate the company's £30m budget for online sales over the next two years. The high-street giant has chosen Jonathan Hart, managing director of Dixon's retail group, to fill the role. Hart was previously responsible for the retailer's high-street stores, its mobile phone chain The Link, and PC games group @jakarta. Last week Dixons' share price fell dramatically as the established retailer blamed falling interim margins on lower high-street prices and competition from the Internet. Analysts also estimate that around three-quarters of the company's market capitalisation is due to its 80 per cent stake in its free ISP Freeserve.
