FI Group and Druid merge in £2.4bn deal

NEWS UK consultancies Druid and FI Group are to merge, creating a £2.4bn company. The deal is based on a share swap offer by FI for Druid, valuing the latter at approximately £670m. The new company will offer outsourcing, applications integration, business and systems consultancy. According to the two consultancies, the deal will enable them to capitalise on the opportunities in ebusiness services, ERP and ERM (enterprise resource management) application service provision. In a statement, Hilary Cropper, executive chairman of FI, said: "The merger represents an important strategic step towards the achievement of FI's vision of becoming a global consulting and outsourcing organisation." John Pocock, chief executive of Druid, said: "I am particularly pleased that Druid is merging with FI because of the very similar values held by both organisations."
