Airtours to offer online banking with BoS

NEWS Holiday company, Airtours, is poised to enter the world of Internet finance as it nears closure on a deal with the Bank of Scotland (BoS) to provide online banking services. The talks - which have been in progress for around six months - follow closely on the heels of British Airways' offshore banking venture set up last year in partnership with the Royal Bank of Canada. BoS is a provider of "white label" services, whereby companies can offer banking services under their own branding. BoS already has many such deals, the largest of which is with supermarket chain, Sainsbury's. David Crossland, chairman of Airtours, confirmed that talks were underway but said no details had been finalised. Airtours has a customer base of around four million.
