NEWS Sybase has launched a survey into the US healthcare market, which outlines the future of online health delivery systems. Conducted in partnership with financial investors Bancorp Piper Jaffray, the survey aims to show the huge impact of sharing electronic information across the healthcare sector. It charts how US physicians are using the Web, and anticipates their future activities. The survey concludes that online content about health and disease is only the beginning. New services, including e-commerce services, are set to change the industry. It finishes with a recommendation that chronic diseases are targeted online, as a way of cutting overall healthcare expenses. The report, entitled "eHealth 2.0: Defining the 'ePPI-Center' of eHealth", will be on show today at the annual Healthcare Information conference in Dallas.
