NEWS More than 23,000 schools in the UK will be given free software this spring as part of a £40m give-away by Time Computers and ISP Supanet. The companies claim that 38 million tokens have been collected in a promotion launched last September. This will lead to 2,200 PCs and 1.1 million software CDs being given to schools across the country. From 2 May, schools can also benefit from cut-price broadband Internet access prices as BT rolls out its Learning Stream Service for schools and public institutions. The reduced tariffs were given the green light by telecoms regulator Oftel, today.
