silicon.com asks viewers' opinions in IR35 questionnaire

NEWS silicon.com has launched a survey to gauge the effect of the UK government's IR35 legislation on the IT industry. Introduced on 6 April this year, IR35 closes what the government claims is a tax loophole used by some IT contractors to avoid tax and National Insurance contributions by setting themselves up as a limited company. However, rather than catching the few that were abusing the rule, industry observers claim the legislation can be applied to more than 90 per cent of IT contractors. But what effect has this had?
