'Snooping Bill': House of Lords makes major amendments

NEWS The UK government suffered two humiliating defeats late last night in the House of Lords over its controversial Regulation of Investigatory Powers Bill. The Lords voted in favour of two amendments to the 'Snooping Bill'. The first would create an advisory board to oversee the practical implementation of the Bill. The second amendment provides ISPs with "fair" compensation for the costs of installing the 'black boxes' police will need to get access to emails. We'll have more on this story later today.
