NEWS 'Hands free' kits can reduce exposure to harmful mobile phone emissions, according to a report published by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI). The research, undertaken by the independent consultancy SARtest, contradicts findings published by the Consumers Association in April which claimed hands-free kits might actually increase the risk of exposure to dangerous emissions. E-minister Patricia Hewitt welcomed the report. In a statement she said: "Today's report confirms that hands-free kits reduce exposure for mobile phone users. It is important that the public is provided with clear and unambiguous advice about the use of hands-free kit."
