Oftel report slams leased line pricing

By Julian Goldsmith, 29 August 2000 02:15

NEWS Oftel has come out strongly against BT's wholesale leased line pricing, promising an industry consultation and the possibility of the telecoms watchdog taking over leased line price setting. Speaking to Silicon, Anne Lambert, director of operations at Oftel, said: "Our investigation shows the main problem is in the wholesale market and we need to propose a regulation to address this. Most likely solution will be a some sort of pricing control." BT has refused to comment.
