NEWS In trading this morning the shares hit £4.75 after starting at £4.10. Trades after midday led to a slight slump in price to £4.67 at 13:00 (GMT). By 15.00 (GMT) Sema's shares had dropped to £4.46, 12 per cent above its opening price this morning. News service Reuters reported early today that oilfield services group Schlumberger had assembled a $3bn war chest to fund a purchase of Sema. Another touted bidder, Logica, refused to comment. Takeover by a UK software and services company is thought unlikely.
