NEWS Just over three per cent of the online population took to the net last month to search government sites for the latest news on the spread of the disease, according to figures from Jupiter MMXI. The Ministry of Agriculture site registered 451,000 users while the official government site counted 372,000. Health and taxation worries also drove people online as 1.5 per cent of UK net users logged onto the NHS site and 1.3 per cent visited the Inland Revenues site to get information on whether the disease could affect human health and to see whether it would influence the latest budget. Sports portals also benefited from the disease as users flocked online for updates on cancelled fixtures and race meetings.
