Cybercrime unit launched

The UK police force has launched its first cybercrime unit to combat what the police have described as the "growing and indeed difficult problem of cyber-crime".

By Peter Warren, 18 April 2001 13:05

NEWS Speaking at the launch of the unit, which is intended to deal with a rise in high-tech crime, the new head of the National High Tech Crime Unit described it as an historic policing moment. The unit will be split into four areas: investigations; intelligence; support and forensic retrieval. silicon.com will be reporting response to the unit throughout the day.
