'It ain't what you do, it's the way that you do it'. That's what gets results...

NEWS The International ASP consortium (Aspic) and the World Intellectual Property Organisation (Wipo) have worked out joint guidelines for settling disputes. The guidelines will provide business customers and ASPs with clarification and arbitration in international conflicts before they end up as lawsuits, as well as offering guidelines on service level agreements. A code of conduct for legal representatives and mediators in the ASP sector is essential as any potential conflicts will be concerned with the basic building blocks of the business model, said Aspic chairman Traver Gruen-Kennedy. He added that until now, contract negotiations or compensation claims could often not be solved quickly and easily. The guidelines are particularly important for conflicts across international borders. By Kathrin Schmitt, reporter, http://www.silicon.de
