NEWS Oracle has come to blows with its US user group over who hosts conferences on Oracle technology. The OAUG has turned down a proposal from Oracle that would have seen the group discontinue independent conferences in America to co-operate with Oracle on official events. In a statement from OAUG's headquarters, the group said it will operate its own events without Oracle support, as the database giant has made it clear it will not back events organised by the user group. Oracle has claimed it does not have the resources to sponsor US shows run by both itself and the OAUG.
