NEWS Financial software specialist Cognos has launched a web-based analysis tool for financial directors.
The company claims it will supplant spreadsheet reporting as Cognos Finance 5.1 enables financial directors to draw up budgets, forecasts and reports which can be delivered to the entire enterprise via the web.
In a statement, UK MD of Cognos Graham Walter said: "Today's global enterprises face a turbulent environment for forecasting their income, expenses and budgeting their various operations. There's less time to complete these plans and there's more at stake."
