NEWS Deutsche Telekom is preparing a public offering for its IT services unit T-Systems. The proposed stock market listing for the German telco's technology business service is to take place at the end of 2002 according to the Financial Times Deutschland. Christian Hufnagl, T-Systems chief, told the German national that Deutsche Telekom is getting everything into place for this date. But he added:" I do not want to announce a floatation." Last month Deutsche Telekom said in a statement it would not IPO the division in the current economic environment and would postpone this until at least the end of next year. Last year it floated a minority stake in its ISP, T-Online. Investors say they want to see the same happen with the groups other core businesses, mobile, fixed-line, and IT.
