Regus to outsource IT department

Office outsourcers see shares jump...

By John Oates, 3 December 2001 15:55

NEWS Regus shares jumped 15 per cent this afternoon following news that the office management company is to cut costs by outsourcing its IT department. Cedar, Colt Telecom and Compaq have won the £25m a year contract. Regus claims this will mean savings of 40 per cent a year. But there will be no redundancies connected to the deal. Regus shares have fallen heavily in recent months on fears that the worldwide downturn will hit demand for temporary offices especially hard.
