EDS slaps Ariba with lawsuit

Accused prepared to fight all the way...

NEWS EDS is suing former alliance partner Ariba, claiming that the B2B vendor breached the terms of a $20m sales and marketing partnership. The two companies signed the agreement in 2000 to co-develop industry consortium e-marketplaces, with EDS managing the exchanges and Ariba providing the technology. Kelloggs, Prudential Insurance, Tyco Healthcare and EDS itself were among the first customers in the alliance. But in December, EDS claimed that Ariba used the alliance to identify potential customers and sold software licences directly to them in a filing with a Delaware Court. EDS terminated the contract in November claiming breach of contract. Ariba denied the claim and said it will defend itself vigourously.'
