NEWS Microsoft trial judge Colleen Kollar-Kotelly has called on both sides in the case to change their proposed settlements. Kollar-Kotelly wants lawyers to rank the proposed settlement provisions according to importance. The nine states which rejected the DoJ settlement have called for various actions to be taken against Microsoft including opening up source code, unbundling browser software from the operating system and allowing computer manufacturers more choice in how they use Microsoft products. Microsoft has been asked to consider which of the proposed actions it would accept.
