Siemens scoops significant South African outsourcing deal

NEWS Siemens Business Services has picked up a E100m, seven-year outsourcing contract with Medscheme, a South African healthcare specialist. Siemens will take resonsibility for the day-to-day running of all of Medscheme's servers, desktop PCs and notebooks in its 18 sites, and operate its local area networks and helpdesk. It will also integrate new components into the LANs, as and when they become available. Medscheme aims to cut costs and improve the quality of its technology infrastructure on the back of the deal.
