NEWS Japanese video games firm Nintendo says it intends to appeal against a E149m fine for anti-competitive behaviour - one of the largest fines ever handed down to a single company. The European Commission found Nintendo and seven distributors guilty of 'price fixing', saying it had kept prices artificially high across the European market between 1991 and 1998. While Nintendo conceded the point it believes the fine levied is excessive. A statement released by the company said: "In view of the size of the fine, which Nintendo finds surprising, Nintendo will lodge an appeal." UK distributor John Menzies, which sold games through its THE Games division, was also fined E18m in the ruling.
