NEWS Services giant EDS has failed to secure a contract, thought to be worth around $7bn, to supply Procter & Gamble with practically all its IT requirements. After extended talks, P&G will now outsource its business services to various companies over the next six to 24 months, the company is quoted as saying in today's FT. EDS will still be in the running for some of this business but the change of heart will be a body blow for the company, which has run into trouble recently. However, such 'mega-deals' are still central to EDS' strategy.
