NEWS Unisys has landed a 10-year outsourcing contract from Royal & SunAlliance worth an estimated £300m. Subsidiary unit Unisys Insurance Services Limited (UISL) will provide managed insurance administration services. The life and pensions company said the aims are better customer service and lower costs per policy, while allowing 1,700 staff transferring to UISL to develop their careers fully. The companies reckon the deal is one of the largest of its type in the sector. Final revenue for Unisys will depend upon policy volume, however R&SA has closed its UK Life operation to new clients as it part of a current restructuring.
