NEWS Securicor Cash Services has turned to BT for an IP virtual private network (VPN) service to connect 64 UK sites. The organisation, which specialises in ATM machines and moving cash, will pay the telco £3.8m over five years for BT Managed IP Clear. The service uses MPLS which speeds up network traffic and makes it easier to manage. Securicor IT director Moira Nairn said in a statement: "As our business and customer base grows we need to ensure we have a robust infrastructure in place which will support the increasing demands on our network. It also positions us to exploit other IP services in the future." At the moment Securicor uses a BT Managed Kilostream network.
