The office - now on video

NEWS Regus has awarded BT Conferencing a two-year £1m video conferencing contract.

The deal will see Polycom ViewStation equipment rolled out initially to 43 Regus serviced offices across the UK. Regus has the largest network of meeting rooms around the world, with the UK its number one market.

BT Conferencing has said it chose the Polycom equipment for reasons of ease-of-use, manageability and reliability. It is rumoured to be one of Polycom's largest deals this year.

A spokesman told silicon.com: "We have an ongoing relationship with Polycom and video conferencing is experiencing steady growth."

Regus is known to be upgrading the facilities at its sites now and the contract with BT Conferencing is thought to be primarily a way of making more money from an existing customer base rather than attracting new business.
