After severe competition

NEWS AT&T is to supply a global VP IPN net to keep travelling Air Products employees in touch.

The specialist materials giant will use the network-based system to keep around 5,000 of its 18,500 staff in small offices and in transit connected with its corporate WAN in Europe, the US and the Asia Pacific region.

"The solution has proven to provide secure, dependable, global access for our travelling and small office employees," said Virgil Palmer, Air Products director of telecommunications and network services.

The $6bn turnover company already uses a wide range of AT&T services but competition for the new contract was said by the telecoms firm to be severe.
