NEWS Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC) has won a multi-million-dollar, multi-year outsourcing contract with the US Air Force.
The IT services giant will work with a team of 34 firms led by Northrop Grumman and including Siemens AG, T-Systems, AT&T and Dell.
CSC's portion of the deal, which will be handled by its Aerospace division, is worth up to $50m and could last as long as five years.
The team will provide IT and communications support to the US Air Force's Network Centric Solutions (NETCENTS) programme with the aim of modernising and simplifying IT ordering and delivery across US Air Force locations.
In particular, CSC will provide support for telecom services, network engineering, systems integration and software development.
Paul Cofoni, president of CSC's Federal Sector business unit, said in a statement: "By leveraging our extensive commercial and government work around the globe, CSC can support activities specific to a single installation as well as large-scale geographical and organisation IT implementations."
Other recent outsourcing contract wins for CSC include a $1.35bn deal with US healthcare company Ascension Health announced last week and a $1.3bn deal with Zurich Financial Service announced in July.
CSC is the number eight IT services provider in Europe, according to recent figures from market researcher IDC.
