CSC has signed a five year, $360m information technology services deal to run and maintain Sun's IT infrastructure worldwide.
Under the agreement, CSC will provide software tools and support services for a variety of Sun's internal business activities such as finance, manufacturing, messaging, enterprise management, customer relations and data warehousing.
Sun chief information officer Bill Vass, said in a statement: "It is no surprise that flexibility is one of the greatest competitive weapons in the IT industry. CSC will help us achieve this nimbleness and ensure that Sun's IT infrastructure is run as effectively as any company on the planet. We will operate at lower cost and with more flexibility to respond to market dynamics."
In recent months, CSC has bagged several major technology services contracts, including one with Ascension Health, valued up to $1.35bn. It also landed a $52m pact to evaluate and support biometric technology for the US Department of Defense.
