Scots get £100 each to learn IT

Executive aims to spread tech skills

NEWS The Scottish Executive has announced it is to give every Scottish adult £100 towards brushing up their tech skills.

The Executive already offers the country's low earners up to £200 each to help them learn new work-related skills. Now the scheme is being extended to all Scots over the age of 18 who want to improve their ICT skills or learn new ones.

Anyone wanting to take up the offer will be allowed to spend their £100 per year with any firm on the Executive's approved learning providers register.

The Executive hopes the scheme will enable more people to convert the basic computer skills they have into formal qualifications.
