NEWS High street fast food giant Kentucky Fried Chicken has signed a UK deal with management software provider Geac to overhaul its planning procedures.

The system will run on Microsoft's SQL Server and will integrate with KFC's existing JD Edwards ERP system and its Cognos reporting tools.

Paul Brannan, planning manager for KFC, said the Geac MPC solution "will provide a planning tool to create individual financial store plans with online contributions from our field-based operations teams".

Brannan added: "We will be able to quickly update plans as business needs change and model multiple scenarios to achieve key strategies."

The system is expected to go live within the next four months. The value and terms of the deal were not disclosed.
