Philip Freeborn, currently global CIO at UBS, is jumping ship to join Barclays Capital.

In January, Freeborn will move to the investment banking division of Barclays Bank to become managing director and CIO. He will report to Rich Ricci, the current COO.

Freeborn, who worked at UBS for 12 years, is replacing Kevin O'Reilly, who joined accounting firm Deloitte as a partner earlier this week.

Don Trotta became the CIO of Barclays Bank earlier this year, after leaving Citibank.
