Domino's Pizza has appointed a new IT director to spearhead an IT strategy that will support the ambitious expansion and growth plans of the company.

Jane Kimberlin joins Domino's Pizza from Scottish and Newcastle, and takes over from interim IT chief Ian Takats with immediate effect. She will be responsible for the overall management of the corporate and in-store IT infrastructure.

Kimberlin has more than 25 years of experience in the IT industry including stints at Powergen, Tonka and Wolverhampton and Dudley Breweries.

She said in a statement: "Domino's Pizza has a proven track record in adopting new technologies such as interactive TV and the internet and takes a progressive and innovative approach to IT. The ambitious expansion plans Domino's has in place provide us with enormous scope for further developments."

Kimberlin will report directly to finance director Lee Ginsberg, who said IT will be a key part of the company's plans to open 50 new pizza delivery stores each year over the next five years.
