Terminal 5 (T5) is the first new terminal to be built at Heathrow for more than twenty years - and includes some cutting-edge technologies.

Paul Coby, British Airways (BA) CIO, said: "Technology is at the heart of everything [T5] does. Our job is to join all this up."

He added: "We're putting in the systems that run the terminal, that run the airline. It's an opportunity to put in new ways of working."

The sheer scale of the project from an IT perspective is clear with 180 IT supplier contracts, 2,103 PCs, 163 systems and 9,000 connected devices.
