Across Europe, the Middle East and Africa this figure falls to 76 per cent and globally it is 77 per cent, in a poll run by research house IDG for Unisys.
UK companies also offer greater levels of assistance to workers, with more than half (52 per cent) of businesses offering 24x7 IT support.
Only one-third (34 per cent) of companies in EMEA and 40 per cent of companies globally offer such round-the-clock assistance.
Three-quarters of UK workers use computers or computer-driven devices, with 48 per cent of the UK's companies approving of staff using corporate IT systems for personal projects.
But Blighty is lagging behind the rest of the world for dishing out mobile devices to its staff, with 46 per cent using these gadgets for work, compared to 54 per cent across EMEA and 49 per cent globally.

I was fascinated to see that 52% of all UK companies offer 24x7 IT support. Where do these figures come from?
We are a managed services supplier to the SME sector and the non acute NHS sector and we would state that the majority of all organisations we encounter are fortunate if they receive reasonable IT support on a 9 to 5 basis, Monday to Friday.
When one considers that SME's make up the vast majority of companies in the UK we cannot see how this figure of 52% can be accurate.
